The Pennington family has steadfastly supported hundreds of nonprofits. The work of our nonprofit partners makes change possible and our state so special.

Some rules and processes you must know before starting an application. 

1. We can make grants only to 501(c)3 nonprofits in good standing with the IRS. We can also make restricted grants to municipal organizations.

2. The Foundation does not have a competitive grantmaking cycle and only accepts solicited grant proposals by trustees.

3. Grants are generally awarded but limited to these focus areas: public safety, disaster relief, sports and recreation, health and wellness, and the arts. 

4. The Foundation supports all types of grants: unrestricted, seed, bridge, event sponsorships, capital, annual, programmatic, disaster related, and research.

5. Grant proposals will be solicited throughout the year and pre-selected nonprofits will be notified by the Foundation when to submit.

6. All gift requests, including events sponsorships, must be submitted as grant proposals in our online application system.
